Image Description: Photo of the corner of a ceiling, painted white, with a slight shadow.
Living with multiple chronic illnesses during a global pandemic is a wild ride. On the one hand, people are talking more than ever about invisible illnesses and how important public health is. On the other, those of us who are more ‘vulnerable’ are advised to stay at home so that healthier people can live their lives to the fullest. Disability and disabled people are both in the public eye like never before and also hidden away and forgotten about in new and damaging ways. This photograph is from a day where I spent a long time in bed, feeling unwell, looking at the ceiling. Both completely bored and fascinated by the shapes and shadows of the every day.
